The purpose of this assignment sheet is twofold. First, it gives you, the reader, further insight into what multigenre research papers are. Writing in the assignment sheet genre allows me to present the information in a logical way with examples, lists, headings, and a more informal voice. However, the assignment sheet carries a secondary purpose: this assignment sheet is not a gimmick for displaying information, but rather an authentic tool that can actually be used or adapted for a summative multigenre assessment for a composition unit. Thus, you can see what assignment expectations would be from the perspective of the student, as well as how I envision an assignment like this working in my classroom. You may also notice how the capstone project you are reading, while not a perfect exemplar of the guidelines, still shares a significant amount of similarities with the assignment suggested below.
